    With a firm reliance on evidence-based treatments, his practice involves a holistic approach which incorporates both pharmacological and psychosocial interventions in the care of his patients.

    He has worked across several roles in community psychiatry, in both acute and longer-term care and is a strong advocate for patients to receive accessible and affordable mental health care.

    He has worked extensively as a consultant psychiatrist in Australia and in the United Kingdom. This includes inpatient and outpatient services.

    Dr Leenika Wijeratne

    Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist


    Dr Leenika Wijeratne is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with over 10 years of experience in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

    She is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists and is a member of the Faculty of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

    Dr Wijeratne offers psychiatry assessment and treatment for mental health problems in children and adolescents up to the age of 18. She will see patients with mental health problems in children and adolescents including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment difficulties and school-based problems.

    She has a special interest in:

    neurodevelopmental disorders and offers assessments for the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder & ADHD.

    Clinical Psychologist


    Melissa is a Clinical Psychologist Registrar who has experience working with adults, adolescents and children with complex and co-morbid presentations.

    She utilises a range of therapeutic interventions to work with clients from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, with varying mental health concerns. Her main interests include trauma and adolescent/ adult psychotherapy.
